"Can you recommend any Essential Oils that we can use in our hot tub, like Eucalyptus?? We currently use your natural chemicals...the Mineral. Love it so far. 450 gal tub. 9’x9’. Also, can you recommend a light-weight, durable, and eco-friendly spa cover. I am not pleased with 5” foam covers that fill with water, get heavy and last for only 4 years."
Thanks - Dynasty
The essential oils I have used dissolve in water and so work well with our minerals – I have had no unwanted side effects. I usually buy whatever is on the shelf at our local organic food market and give it a try. There are so many companies that sell these products at high prices with great stories, and I think they are just charging for the story.
I have tried oils mixed with salts, but had better luck with the artificial fragrances for longevity. So use the oils by themselves for the best effect.
About the cover – I would look into a “snow load” cover for your area. They cost more but should last a very long time. Some are aluminum and I have heard of one that’s inflatable. Don’t have any specifics, but that’s the direction I would go. You are so right about the foam – even here in moderate weather they just don’t last that long and soak up water long before they even get weathered badly.
Good luck in your search.
